REPS. MITCHELL, MOFFITT ENDORSE MORTHLAND
PORT BYRON – Rich Morthland, Republican candidate for State Representative in the 71st House District, announced that State Representatives Jerry Mitchell (R-Rock Falls) and Don Moffitt (R-Galesburg) have endorsed his candidacy for state representative.
“I am extremely grateful to Representative Mitchell and Representative Moffitt for their endorsement,” Morthland said. “Jerry and Don have over 30 years of legislative experience between them. They understand how important it is to elect state legislators who are focused on creating jobs and rebuilding Illinois’ economy.” Moffitt has represented the 74th House District since 1993. Mitchell has represented the 90th House District since 1995. Both districts border the 71st House District.
“I am pleased to be able to endorse Rich Morthland in the 71st House District,” Mitchell said. “Rich has shown that he knows how to get things done. When Rock Island County tried to give raises to elected officials, Rich was the one who stood up and led the fight to
repeal the raises and hold the line on the budget. He will make it his priority to create jobs, fight waste and corruption, and oppose tax increases. We need someone like Rich in the General Assembly.”
